April 2018

TIBURON

Naples, FL

02

Given that the Gold Course at Tiburon Gold Course consistently hosts PGA and LPGA events, I was already expecting an impressive property when I visited in April of 2018. The Greg Norman design exceeded my expectations, it is fun, challenging and in absolute pristine conditions.

The day we visited, weather was unfortunately far from perfect, the day was rainy and windy and that is why the images we captured don’t make justice to the gorgeous golf course that is Tiburon Gold.

Fairways can get pretty narrow at some points and with the dry conditions we had at the beginning of the day, the ball seemed to roll forever on the fairways. Greens were in perfect condition as well, fast and with lots of hills and were quite challenging. Even the bunkers are beautiful with a “pot belly” design, although not as deep as some of the Scottish bunkers.

It’s hard for me to say which round is tougher, with good weather conditions I think the back nine would have been friendlier, but the day we played conditions turned for the worse during the second round which made it anything but friendly. Either way our experience at Tiburon was amazing, quite possibly one of my favorite golf courses of all time and I am positive that with good weather conditions it would have been even better.

I can’t wait to go back and play the Gold course again, and hopefully get to play the Black course as well, which I hear is just as amazing.
